Well, the journey has begun!
As I embark on my first University study, in quite some time, I am both nervous and excited about what is to come. Like me, I am sure this blog will evolve as I delve deeper into the world of ‘Networked and Global Learning’. I hope it will provide not only documentation of my learning but journey as a teacher and learner as well.
In the words of Ritu Ghatourey:
“Life is a journey, with problems to solve, lessons to learn, but most of all, experiences to enjoy.”
So here’s to the road ahead! – Anne

I have decided to take a leaf out of David’s book, or should I say blog, and have chosen an image to banner my blog that speaks to me about social media and online learning platforms in Australian education…and it makes me smile!
Contained within this snapshot I see the trailblazers, the Elmos, who aren’t afraid to look at things differently. Those who are always searching for creative and innovative ways to improve learning outcomes for their students. Those who value engagement and fun in learning! I see educators who just keep on doing what they have always done. Those who continue to work diligently and go busily about their daily routine but who do not seem to notice the changing landscape of education around them. And then there are those who are resistant to change, those who perceive online learning to be just the latest trend or fad and seem determined to keep their eyes close to the possibilities.
But then again, maybe it is just Elmo texting Big Bird about their lunch plans!
Hi Anne,
Great blog you’ve set up so far! I’m still struggling to find my way around wordpress, so I really appreciate the way you’ve managed to organize your blog to look and function more like a website. I’ll definitely pick your brain on some of the technical stuff if I get stuck:-) As a visual artist I always get so caught up in the appearance settings that it takes me a while to set the scene for the content and conversations. Anyway, great job and looking forward to learning with you!

Hi Mari – I know exactly what you mean. I am a very visual person and how things looks is extremely important to me. To give you an idea, it took me about three hours to decide on my blog banner and a name! I love the image on your blog though. What an amazing part of the world you live in! Hope you are enjoying the time away visiting family and friends. Look forward to getting to know you better in the weeks and months ahead! – Anne

Hi Anne,
I love your set up too, it is vibrant and immediately likeable. I also love elmo and bigbird.
You have some really good ideas about the changing world of teaching. I’m curious to see how much it will change, and I think a lot of it is unforeseen when looking at how much things have changed in the last five years.

HI Anne
Your Elmo is wonderful. Had me running all over the internet looking for cool pictures that meant something to me. I started off as a prism and ended with a montage. Next I’ll go looking for image creation technology. 🙂

Hi Anne
I just wanted to add my voice to the chorus admiring your site 🙂 I particularly like the way you have organised your blogs – it makes it quite easy to find material relevant to each section of the course.
