EVEN ELMO'S GOT A MOBILE

Well, the journey has begun!

As I embark on my first University study, in quite some time, I am both nervous and excited about what is to come.  Like me, I am sure this blog will evolve as I delve deeper into the world of ‘Networked and Global Learning’.  I hope it will provide not only documentation of my learning but journey as a teacher and learner as well.

In the words of Ritu Ghatourey:

“Life is a journey, with problems to solve, lessons to learn, but most of all, experiences to enjoy.”

I have decided to take a leaf out of David’s book, or should I say blog, and have chosen an image to banner my blog that speaks to me about social media and online learning platforms in Australian education…and it makes me smile!

Contained within this snapshot I see the trailblazers, the Elmos, who aren’t afraid to look at things differently.  Those who are always searching for creative and innovative ways to improve learning outcomes for their students.  Those who value engagement and fun in learning!  I see educators who just keep on doing what they have always done. Those who continue to work diligently and go busily about their daily routine but who do not seem to notice the changing landscape of education around them.  And then there are those who are resistant to change, those who perceive online learning to be just the latest trend or fad and seem determined to keep their eyes close to the possibilities.

But then again, maybe it is just Elmo texting Big Bird about their lunch plans!
